After fierce canine competition, a new Saint Paul BARKS park ambassador has been crowned.
Here’s Nina, an 8-pound Griffonshire (Yorkie/Brussels Griffon mix) rescue from Kentucky whom we adopted only last spring. Though she easily fits on a lap, she’s much more than a “lap dog.”
Nina’s petite stature belies her remarkable boundless energy and stamina on long walks. Como Park, an extension of her front yard, is most familiar to her, but she’s always game to try new paths and trails, especially if a car ride is involved.
Best of all, Nina’s always inspiring us to spend more time in and more thoroughly explore local parks and natural areas, including Phalen Park, Trout Brook Nature Sanctuary, Hidden Falls Park, Crosby Farm Regional Park, Swede Hollow Park and those in neighboring communities. Her favorite: always the one she’s presently visiting!
