Party for the Parks June 26

Saint Paul Parks and Recreation and the Saint Paul Parks Conservancy will honor the best of the best of more than 5,000 volunteers who make the city’s park system one of the top-ranked in the nation on Wednesday, June 26, 2024, during the Party for The Parks event at Como Midway Picnic Pavilion. Now in its fourth year, the event gathers more than 200 park fans to celebrate all the best in Saint Paul parks.

The party kicks off with a special acrobatic performance by Circus Juventas. The big top of North America’s largest circus school is housed at Highland Park, making Circus Juventas an important partner of Saint Paul Parks and Recreation.

Bobby Jensen, known for his warm personality and great gardening advice on “Grow with KARE” on KARE-11 TV will announce the volunteer honorees. Local singer/actress/dancer Thomasina Petrus and pianist Thom West will literally sing their praises with an original song. All volunteers will be recognized by Mayor Melvin Carter as part of his proclamation declaring June 26, 2024, to be “Saint Paul Parks and Rec Volunteer Day” in the City of Saint Paul.

The celebration will also feature dancing to the Johnnie Brown Experience and a variety of fresh local food, along with the Mik Mart Ice Cream Truck.
