Pedro Park Groundbreaking

Downtown’s newest park is under construction, scheduled to be completed in June 2025.

About 75 residents, community leaders, park donors, Pedro family members and elected officials joined Saint Paul Parks and Recreation for the official groundbreaking ceremony on July 16. Live jazz by Jovon Williams on the sax floated around the crowd, buzzing with excitement to see the hard work of more than 14 years come to fruition. Brief remarks were offered by Mayor Carter, downtown resident Senator Sandy Pappas, Representative Maria Isa Perez Vega, Ward 2 Councilmember Rebecca Noecker, Julie Printz from the Friends of Pedro Park and Parks Director Andy Rodriguez. The public funding portion of the park budget came from all levels of city and state government working together. Cheers to our City leaders and legislative team. And huge thanks to Julie Printz and the Friends of Pedro Park who have helped shepherd survey and survey after community gathering to get the design right and keep the project moving forward over the years.

Many thanks to Mairs and Power and the Saint Paul Foundation for their generous support of Pedro Park!
