Help care for Highland Bridge’s newest green gem 🌳💚
Something exciting is growing at Assembly Union Park (875 Mount Curve Boulevard, Saint Paul, MN 55116) — and it’s not just the trees and flowers! A brand-new Friends of Assembly Union Park group has formed to help care for this beautiful new park in the heart of the Highland Bridge development.
A Park with Deep Roots and a Bright Future
Opened in 2023, Assembly Union Park transformed a portion of the former Ford Motor Company site into a vibrant 1.5-acre neighborhood destination. The park’s name honors the assembly workers and union members who helped build Saint Paul’s legacy of hard work and innovation. Today, the site is a lively community space featuring a playground, basketball court, pickleball courts, dog-relief area, shaded picnic tables, and native plantings designed for pollinators and people alike.
Join the Friends of Assembly Union Park
The new Friends group will partner with Saint Paul Parks & Recreation to keep the park thriving through hands-on volunteer projects and community care. Neighbors and park lovers are invited to:
- Tend the gardens and planted areas to keep them colorful and healthy
- Help with litter pick-ups and seasonal clean-ups
- Plan and lead stewardship projects — from native pollinator beds to tree care
Whether you have a green thumb, love spending time outdoors, or just want to meet other neighbors who care about parks, there’s a way for everyone to get involved.
