Over the course of three inspiring days, something amazing happened at Taylor Park โ our community rolled up its sleeves and built a brand-new playground for kids and families to enjoy for years to come! ๐๐
Thanks to the incredible volunteers who showed up with their time, energy, and big hearts, a joyful idea became a real place for play and connection. From digging holes to tightening bolts, lifting, laughing (and even a little dancing), every part of the build was filled with community spirit and pride.
๐ช More than 75 volunteers joined in
๐ Snacks, smiles, and shared stories kept everyone going
๐จ The result: a beautiful, fun, and safe space for all ages
Our heartfelt thanks to:
- J.E. Dunn Construction for providing volunteers and equipment,
- Southeast Community Organization, who hosted a wonderful volunteer lunch on the big build day
- Leadership Saint Paul
- Funding partners Hardenbergh Foundation, the Saint Paul Jaycees Foundation, and the McNeely Foundation for their generous support
- Cub Foods, Breadsmith, and Kowalskiโs โ who helped keep volunteers well-fed and happy over three days of hard work
- Kaboom! our national partner in ending playspace inequity for their leadership and volunteer management
Projects like Taylor Park are part of the Conservancyโs Equal Play Initiative to increase access to great play spaces and programs in high need neighborhoods. We partner with friends like you to build new playgrounds, sport courts and fields. Accessible programs get kids into nature, introduce them to tech and job skills. And, if your work team or community organization likes to play with a purpose, you can join in the fun next year for two more playground builds. Please contact Shari Blindt to learn more.
