Newell Park Playground — $100,000 Community Campaign
Newell Park has been a beloved Saint Paul green space since 1908, serving a vibrant neighborhood of 3,200 residents—including more than 500 children. As younger families move in, community voices are clear: it’s time to renew the park for the next generation. Parts of the existing playground are being removed due to age and safety concerns, and the well-used ball field needs upgrades to keep pace with growing demand.
The Saint Paul Parks Conservancy is partnering with Saint Paul Parks & Recreation to build a new, inclusive playground that will serve children of all ages and abilities. With kids spending just 4–7 minutes a day in unstructured outdoor play, great park design matters more than ever.
We’re launching a $100,000 fundraising campaign to bring this project to life. The new playground will increase park use, support healthier families, and keep Newell Park a welcoming urban oasis for decades to come.
Join us in building a brighter, more playful future at Newell Park.
