North End Community Center — Multi-Use Synthetic Turf Fields

The new North End Community Center stands as a transformational investment in youth, families, and the vibrancy of Saint Paul’s North End. As part of this major community project, the Saint Paul Parks Conservancy proudly supported the creation of two multi-use synthetic turf sports fields, made possible through generous funding from the NFL Grassroots Grant Program and the Minnesota Vikings.

These high-quality fields provide year-round access to safe, durable, and weather-resilient surfaces for a wide range of activities, including football, soccer, lacrosse, and free play. For a neighborhood where many young people face barriers to recreation access, the new fields offer expanded opportunities to learn teamwork, build skills, stay active, and simply have fun.

The synthetic turf fields are an essential part of the broader North End Community Center vision: a welcoming, multi-generational hub that includes a gymnasium, fitness spaces, classrooms, meeting rooms, and outdoor amenities to support both structured programs and informal neighborhood use.

Thanks to the NFL Grassroots Program and the Minnesota Vikings, North End youth now have a safe, modern, and inclusive place to play — right in their own community. These fields will serve thousands of young athletes for years to come, helping advance the Conservancy’s Equal Play Saint Paul initiative and giving North End families the quality recreation assets they deserve.
