Cathedral Park Sound and Light Show

You can see the American debut of Cathedral Illuminated: The Manger from Cathedral Hill Park.

Saint Paul’s famous Cathedral will be bathed in light and sound to reveal a story of peace and joy.

When: Thursday through Saturday, Dec. 17-19, 2020 (various seatings 6:00 – 9:30 p.m.)

Seating for the 12-minute show will be staggered to allow for socially distant viewing from bleacher seats Masks are required and all #StayHealthyMN guidelines will be followed, including all groups and families spaced six feet apart.

Given the hilltop setting of the Cathedral, the light show will broadcast a message of joy through the dark winter night for miles around. It will also be live streamed on the Conservancy Facebook page.

The Saint Paul Parks Conservancy is delighted to partner with the Cathedral Heritage Foundation for this joyous free holiday event that highlights a creative way to use public space. The show’s creator, Luxmuralis is an award-winning projection art company based in Lichfield, England with illumination by artist Peter Walker and music by David Harper. Their shows regularly draw crowds of 20,000 throughout the UK and Europe. This will be their first project in the U.S.

The Saint Paul presentation will run concurrently with the Lichfield Cathedral in England, building a bridge of unity for 2021.  Please join us in sharing an experience of Joy and Peace as a challenging year draws to a close.
