While the city built the park, the Friends of Pedro Park ensure it thrives. We are a community-led group dedicated to the “extra” care that makes this space special. Your gift today helps us purchase the plants, tools, and supplies needed to keep our urban garden beautiful year-round.
A Park 28 Years in the Making
Pedro Park, dedicated in September 2025, is a vibrant green space in the heart of downtown St. Paul — the result of nearly three decades of community determination to turn possibility into something lasting.
What began as a vision — a belief that this neighborhood deserved green space — became reality through persistence, advocacy, and the generosity of those who cared enough to keep going.
Today, Pedro Park is more than a park. It’s where neighbors gather, dogs play, children explore, and community comes to life.
A Space Transformed
What began as a luggage factory, and later became the much-loved Urban Flower Field, has now been transformed into a permanent park — the result of the Pedro family’s generous 2009 land donation and nearly 30 years of persistent community advocacy. Today, it stands as a powerful reminder of what can happen when a community comes together to shape the future of its shared spaces.

Today, Pedro Park offers a welcoming space for the Fitzgerald neighborhood, featuring a pavilion, dog run, play area, gardens, and public art — a place designed for gathering, relaxation, and everyday connection.
More than just a park, it stands as a testament to what a community can achieve when it refuses to let go of its vision for green space.
