New Date for the Nature of Winter at Como Woodland

The low temps last week led us to reschedule this great family event for Feb 19.

Come learn about the nature of winter at the Como Woodland Outdoor Classroom. Find animal tracks, learn to identify prairie plants and trees from clues left behind in the fall, look for winter birds and finish it off with s’mores.

Your winter learning adventure will be led by Como Woodland Advisors Joan McKearnan, professor of biology & environmental science, Anoka-Ramsey College; Britt Forsberg, University of Minnesota Extension Educator; Teri Heyer, Program Specialist-Urban Connections, US Forest Service; and Lisa Held, Environmental Educator

The woodland is 17-acres with eight Minnesota plant communities and a trail system featuring 27 numbered posts with QR codes that correspond with a short woodland guide. The full guidebook is online at: comowoodlandoutdoorclassroom.org.
