Upcoming Nature and Bird Walks

Two free events this May put you in touch with the abundant nature and wildlife in Swede Hollow Park.

Eyes on Nature Walk in Spanish and English May 2

As part of the City Nature Challenge, the Conservancy is hosting a guided nature walk at Swede Hollow Park in both English and Spanish from 2-3 p.m. on May 2. Naturalists will help you appreciate the wild nature of the park, from tracks to trees to birds and wildlife. You’ll also be shown how to be a citizen scientist using the iNaturalist app for your smartphone. Visit iNaturalist.org or download the app from the AppStore or Google Play. Create an account and start making observations on all your park walks.

Treats will be served, so please pre-register so we have enough! Meet at Swede Hollow Park – Drewry Tunnel – near 622 Beaumont Steet, Saint Paul.

Bird Walk May 15

The Friends of Swede Hollow and the Saint Paul Chapter of the Audubon Society are hosting a birding event on May 15 from 07:00 – 09:00 a.m. Swede Hollow Park is an important migratory bird flyway and migration should be in full swing on May 15. The Saint Paul Chapter of the Audubon Society will provide binoculars for use during the walk as needed. They also recommend downloading the FREE eBird app on your smartphone.

Space is limited and Pre-registration is required. Meet at Swede Hollow Park – Drewry Tunnel – near 622 Beaumont Steet, Saint Paul.
