Downtown Dog Waste Stations Installed

Together with the St. Paul Downtown Alliance, the Conservancy provided 10 stations in downtown.

You may have heard that a tsunami of dog poop was engulfing various downtown parks and Lowertown sidewalks this spring.

In response, working with Council Member Rebecca Noecker, Saint Paul Parks and Recreation, Friends of Mears Park and the St. Paul Downtown Alliance, the Conservancy ordered ten new pet waste bag stations. These have been installed by Parks and Rec at Mears Park, Wacouta Commons Park, Pedro Park, Landmark Plaza, Kellogg Mall, and the green space next to Central Station.

Volunteer park stewards are keeping the stations replenished with bags supplied by St. Paul Downtown Alliance and the Conservancy.

We have also created some humorous signs to help local dog owners get in the habit of picking up after their pets.
