Concert in Support of Urban Roots This Weekend

Beautiful music raises funds for key parks partner Feb 4-5.

VocalPoint Chorus has been singing their hearts out to raise money for important local nonprofits since 2004. This weekend, their concert performances of For Everything, A Season: Music to Thrive By support Urban Roots, one of the Conservancy’s partners in the Coalition to improve Swede Hollow Park. Since 1997, Urban Roots has provided paid internships to youth on the East Side of Saint Paul. Youth interns develop leadership, entrepreneurial, and life skills through our Market Garden, Conservation, and Cook Fresh Programs. Each year, 75 youth interns, ages 14-24, participate in our progressive, tiered programming, connecting to one another and the world around them.

The concerts will feature MaMuse (Sarah Nutting and Karisha Longaker), a duo from Chico, California, influenced by folk and gospel traditions who create uplifting music to inspire the world into thriving. The concert will also feature a new commission by Shruthi Rajasekar.

Concerts take place at 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, Feb 4-5, at Central Presbyterian Chruch, 500 Cedar St, Saint Paul.
