Help Replace Vandalized Trees

Strolling along Shepard Road by the Mississippi River is usually a peaceful experience—but now, something is missing. Last week, 60 newly planted trees, lovingly placed by local students and Tree Trust volunteers, were senselessly uprooted, with most thrown into the river and rendered unsalvageable. This act of vandalism destroyed more than $40,000 in trees and labor, undoing weeks of work aimed at revitalizing St. Paul’s urban forest.

These trees were part of a project to create a greener, healthier city, providing shade, oxygen, and flood prevention, while reducing carbon footprints. Their loss is heartbreaking—but together, we can rebuild.

The Green Up St Paul! Campaign is raising funds to replace the destroyed trees and continue planting efforts across the city. Your donation will directly support new plantings, giving our community—and our environment—a fresh start. 🌿

Together, we can restore the beauty of Shepard Road and keep St. Paul growing green.
