Project Update: Carty Park

Exciting changes are coming to Carty Park, a beloved gathering space in the heart of the historic Rondo neighborhood! As one of the few green spaces serving over 5,000 young people, this park plays a vital role in fostering play, connection, and community well-being. However, the current outdated playground no longer meets the needs of local families.

Thanks to a partnership with KABOOM!, a national nonprofit committed to ending play space inequity, Carty Park is set to receive a kid-designed, community-led play area that will transform the park into a vibrant, inclusive space where children of all backgrounds can thrive. The project will kick off with an engaging Design Day, where youth and adults will co-create the playground vision. From there, the final design will be completed by professional designers, and the most exciting part?

Community members will help build the new playground in just three days!

The Saint Paul Parks Conservancy is leading this initiative, ensuring that every child in Saint Paul has access to high-quality outdoor play and recreation. Want to get involved? Stay tuned for opportunities to help build, celebrate, and support this exciting project.

Together, we’re building more than just a playground—we’re building a legacy of play and community connection!
